Big blow to AAP just before elections, former minister and MLA joined Congress

Just before the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has suffered a major setback. Former AAP MLA Asim Ahmed Khan joined the Congress on Monday. Asim Khan was inducted into the party in the presence of Congress state president Devendra Yadav. Many leaders are changing parties even before the announcement of elections.

 New Delhi. Before the Delhi Assembly elections, Congress has given a shock to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In fact, former AAP MLA Asim Ahmed Khan has joined the Congress. He was elected as an MLA from Matia Mahal seat. Asim Khan was inducted into the party in the presence of Congress state president Devendra Yadav. Let us tell you, many leaders are changing parties even before the announcement of elections. 

Let us tell you, Asim won from Matia Mahal seat in the 2015 assembly elections, after which he was given the post of Food Supply Minister in the cabinet. He had to resign from the post of minister after a sting was released in a corruption case.

Inspired by the ideology of Congress, I joined the party: Devendra Yadav

Devendra Yadav said in a post on Instagram that today Asim ji was made a member of the Congress party from Matiamahal assembly constituency. Asim ji has taken this important decision inspired by the ideology and policies of the Congress party. You are heartily welcomed in the Congress family. I am confident that the party will get new energy under your leadership.

Former Bijwasan MLA joins Congress

At the same time, former Bijwasan MLA Colonel Devendra Sahrawat joined the Congress. Congress state president Devendra Yadav welcomed him into the party. Sahrawat was elected MLA from Bijwasan in 2015 on AAP ticket. After that he joined the BJP. Later he also parted ways with the BJP.
