Tata Power will install 10 lakh solar rooftops in Uttar Pradesh, subsidy of up to Rs 1 lakh is available
Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, 10 lakh solar rooftops will be installed in Uttar Pradesh. This target has been set by Tata Power Company. So far, the company has installed 10 thousand solar rooftops. The government is also providing subsidy on installing solar rooftops. The company is working towards the goal of saving electricity and creating awareness about solar energy.
State Bureau, Lucknow. Tata Power Company has set a target of installing 10 lakh solar rooftops in Uttar Pradesh in two years under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. So far, the company has installed 10 thousand solar rooftops. Along with this, the company is working on the target of making five lakh students of one thousand schools of Uttar Pradesh aware about saving electricity and solar energy.
Tata Power Company CEO and Managing Director Dr. Praveer Sinha told reporters at The Centrum Hotel in Golf City, Lucknow on Thursday that the company has installed solar rooftops of 136 MW capacity in Lucknow, Kanpur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Jhansi, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Aligarh. He said that the government is also providing a maximum subsidy of Rs 1,08,000 for installing solar rooftop. He said that recently a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been signed between Tata Power and Noida International Airport. The company will supply clean energy to the airport for the next 25 years.
Company promoting micro grid solution
He said that the company is promoting micro grid solution in Lakhimpur Kheri and Bahraich. The company is operating 230 public charging points for electric vehicles. These include more than 39 charging points in Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, in collaboration with Ayodhya Development Authority, the company is working on the development of EV infrastructure in Ayodhya area. Along with this, work is also being done at a fast pace on setting up EV charging points in big colonies with the consent of the societies. This will provide employment to at least 100 people in every district.
