IND vs NZ: 'Rohit Sharma is a wonderful person', why did Gautam Gambhir have to say this before the final, is everything okay?

Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has praised Rohit Sharma before the final of the Champions Trophy-2025. Gambhir has described Rohit as a wonderful person. The Indian cricket team has made it to the final of the Champions Trophy-2025. Team India is to face New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday in the title match. Before this match, Gautam Gambhir has praised the team captain Rohit Sharma and called him a wonderful person. But what happened that Gambhir had to praise his captain.

Before the Champions Trophy, Team India went on a tour to Australia where they played a five-match Test series. India had to face a crushing defeat in this series. In the middle of the tour, there were reports that all is not well between Gambhir and Rohit. Some media reports even claimed that Rohit was going to retire in the middle of the series. But he did not do so, due to which Gambhir was upset.

'I have a good relationship with Rohit'

Now Team India is in the final of the Champions Trophy and before that Gambhir said about his captain that the relationship between the two is great because Rohit is a wonderful person. In a video released by ICC, Gambhir said, "Forget Rohit as a captain. I have a great relationship with him. I think he is a wonderful person and this is very important. When you are a wonderful person, you also become a good leader."

Gambhir said, "So I think he has achieved a lot for the IPL franchise and has also won the T20 World Cup for India, but that is history. Now we have a different challenge. Hopefully he will give his best. Not only in terms of batting but also in terms of captaincy."

Rohit will do a big job

If India wins the title under Rohit's captaincy, he will be the second captain to win two ICC trophies for Team India. Before him, only MS Dhoni has done this. India has won the ICC trophy three times under Dhoni's captaincy. Rohit won the T20 World Cup under his captaincy last year.Dailymintz
