Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata. Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Friday strongly criticized Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's remarks on the Border Security Force (BSF). He said that Mamata wants to make Bengal like Bangladesh, so she is making baseless allegations on the BSF, which protects the country on the border.

Talking to reporters after the 87th Foundation Day celebrations of the National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology (NINFET) here on the second day of his Kolkata visit, he alleged that Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingyas are being settled in Bengal. Their number has even exceeded the local Muslim population.

Challenged Mamta

She challenged that if Mamata has any courage then she should implement NRC and CAA in Bengal. It is known that Mamata had alleged in the state secretariat meeting a day earlier that at the behest of the center, BSF is infiltrating Bangladeshi citizens and terrorists through the international border with the intention of destabilizing Bengal. She said that if BSF continues to promote such activities then Trinamool Congress will protest against them.At the same time, TMC leaders were seen defending Mamata's statement. Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dola Sen supported Mamata Banerjee's statement, in which she alleged that the Border Security Force (BSF) is helping terrorists and infiltrators from Bangladesh to enter the state.

The responsibility of border is of security forces: Sen

"The CM has only said what is in her knowledge and what she believes is correct," Sen told ANI. Sen said the responsibility of the border is entirely that of the security forces and not the state government. "This is not surprising. Everyone knows that the border is looked after by the BSF (Border Security Force). If the ruling party at the Centre wants to talk on this issue, it is the responsibility of the BSF and not the state government," Sen said. Dailymintz
