In reply, the Indian team could only score 145 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. England won the match by 26 runs. With this defeat, the Indian team missed out on winning the series. The Indian team is currently leading 2-1 in the 5-match series.
Bad start for England
England, who came to bat first, had a bad start. In the second over itself, Hardik Pandya made Phil Salt his victim. Salt scored 5 runs off 7 balls. After this, there was a partnership of 76 runs for the second wicket between Ben Duckett and captain Jos Butler. Varun Chakraborty broke this partnership on the last ball of the 9th over. Butler scored 24 runs off 22 balls.
Duckett scored 51 runs
In the very next over, Akshar Patel took the wicket of Ben Duckett. Duckett scored 51 runs in 28 balls. After this, Harry Brook scored 8 runs, Jamie Smith scored 6 runs. Jamie Overton returned to the pavilion on a golden duck.
Brydon Carse scored 3 runs while Jofra Archer could not even open his account. Liam Livingstone played a stormy innings of 43 runs. Varun Chakraborty took 5 wickets for India. Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets and Ravi Bishnoi-Axar Patel got 1 wicket each.

Hardik Pandya scored 40 runs
