Noida Airport update The trial of commercial flights will be completed from the 15th of this month at Noida International Airport. From the month of April, passengers will be able to avail flight services to and from the country and abroad. The airport was started with sixty domestic and international flights from the airport. Its foundation stone was laid by PM Narendra Modi on 21 November 2021.

Equipped with modern technology, Noida International Airport is in the final stages of providing a digital travel experience along with Indian culture. The airport will have the capability to land and take off aircraft despite poor visibility.

Being the fastest developing airport in the country, after the implementation of the new land acquisition law, the record of biggest land acquisition will be registered in the name of Noida International Airport.

The PM laid the foundation stone on November 21

The foundation stone of Noida International Airport was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26 November 2021. After the selection of the construction agency Tata Projects, the construction of the airport really started on the ground in May-June 2022. By April 2025, in less than three years, the airport will be recorded as the fastest developing airport with regular passenger flights.

The airport started with 60 domestic and international flights

Sixty domestic flights will be available at the airport from April. Contracts have been signed with Indigo and Akasa for this. Domestic flights will include flights to major cities like Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Chennai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Mumbai, etc. Two cargo services will start along with international flights to Zurich, Singapore and Dubai.

It will be recognized as the country's largest airport

Noida International Airport will be the largest in the country. More than 62 hundred hectares of land is reserved for the airport in the YIDA notified area. In the first phase, the airport is being developed with two runways in 1334 hectares. It will start with one runway in April. Construction of the second runway will begin when the annual number of passengers reaches 1.20 crore.

On completion of the first phase, its construction cost will be around six thousand crore rupees. In the expansion of the airport, one runway will be built along with MRO. With the number of passengers, it will be expanded to six runways. There will be ten aero bridges and 25 parking stands.

CAT III Airport

Noida International Airport will be the seventh airport after six Cat 3 airports in the country. Even if the visibility is low, planes will be able to land and take off on the runway of this airport. 100% work of the 3900 m long and 60 m wide runway has been completed.

Digital travel and zero carbon emission airports

Technology has been used extensively at Noida International Airport. Passengers will get a digital travel experience. The airport will be completely paperless. Passengers will be able to travel through digital tickets. Check-in facility will be available by scanning QR code.

For a zero carbon emission airport, natural light, air, and used water will be recycled. Only e-vehicles will operate in the airport premises. Fifty percent of the airport's electricity consumption will be met through wind and solar energy. A contract has been signed with the Tata Group for this. 

A glimpse of Indian culture

Indian culture has been kept at the Centre in the design of the airport's terminal building. The stairs are inspired by the Ghats of Banaras and the roof is inspired by the waves of the river Ganges. The courtyard is inspired by the havelis in ancient architecture and the windows are latticed to provide ventilation. Only the construction of the terminal building is in progress at the airport. After the civil work, interior decoration will begin. This will also reflect Indian culture. A five-star hotel is being constructed for passengers in the airport premises. Dailymintz

MRO at Forty Acres

MRO will be developed on 40 acres for maintenance of aircrafts. The process of selecting the developer company is underway for this. However, there is a plan to make Jewar a big hub of MRO. For this, 1365 hectares of land is being acquired. It will have the facility of maintenance and overhauling of aircrafts like Airbus and Boeing.

Multi-model logistics hub is being developed in 80 acres

IGI Airport Delhi gets 51 percent of cargo from Ghaziabad and Delhi. Cargo from both the industrial districts of Uttar Pradesh will reach the markets of the country and the world through Noida International Airport. Textiles, electronics, agricultural products, medical equipment will contribute significantly in this.

Rail, road connectivity at Ground Transportation Centre

An underground ground transportation center will be developed in the airport. It will have rail and road connectivity. It is being connected to the Yamuna Expressway along with the Delhi Mumbai Expressway. Its work is almost complete.

Passengers will be able to reach their destination directly from GTC by bus, Namo Bharat Rail, High Speed ​​Rail after leaving the terminal building. DPR has been prepared for the 61 km railway line between Chola and Rundhi to connect Delhi Howrah and Delhi Mumbai Rail Marg.

70 million passenger annual capacity by 2050

The airport will be completed in four phases. In the first phase, it will start with a capacity of 1.2 crore passengers per year. The second phase will have a capacity of three crore passengers and the third phase will have a capacity of five crore passengers. After the completion of all the four phases, the total cost of the project will be Rs 29561 crore.
