According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), there is no possibility of getting much relief from air pollution at present, but the air quality may remain in the very poor category for three days from Sunday to Tuesday. Due to this the atmosphere will remain stifling.

Delhi has poisonous air for the whole month

According to the report of 263 cities released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's air index was 417, which is the highest in the country. So far this month, the air quality has been in the severe category for three days. For the remaining 13 days, the air quality was in the very poor category.

Even a day before, Delhi's air index was in the very poor category at 396. On Saturday, Haryana's Jind was second and Bahadurgarh third in terms of air pollution. Jind's air index was 394 and Bahadurgarh's air index was 388.According to the CPCB, at 6 pm, out of 37 pollution monitoring centers in Delhi, nine places had air index more than 450. The pollution in Delhi was the highest in Shadipur.


Pollution in delhi's environment

The level of PM-10 in Delhi's atmosphere was 399.3 micrograms per cubic meter, which is four times more than the standard. Whereas the level of PM 2.5 was 263 micrograms per cubic meter, which was four and a quarter times more than the standard. According to the data of Decision Support System of IIIT Pune, the contribution of vehicle emissions in Delhi's pollution on Saturday was 12.44 percent, but for the last few days, the contribution of stubble smoke in pollution has been more. Daily Mintz

Incidents of stubble burning in neighboring states

On November 15, the contribution of stubble burning smoke in air pollution was 37.51 percent. According to the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), 739 incidents of stubble burning were recorded. Out of which 136 incidents occurred in Punjab, 25 in Haryana, 46 in Uttar Pradesh, 52 in Rajasthan and the highest number of 480 incidents occurred in Madhya Pradesh.

Among the major cities of NCR, the air quality in Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurugram remained in the very poor category. Whereas, the air index of Greater Noida and Faridabad remained in the poor category.
